Oliver made their iconic Aussie boots in Ballarat for 130 years. Honeywell International took control 2011 and by 2017 all local manufacturing had ceased.
A written statement given to employees said the company had undertaken a review of the Ballarat site which deemed shifting manufacturing would “drive greater efficiencies” due to the “aging machinery”. At its peak it employed approximately 200 Ballarat locals.
Oliver boots are now made in China and are still very popular in the Australian market today.
